Interfaith Story Circle of the Tri-City Area

Welcome to Interfaith Story Circle of the Tri-City Area (Albany, Schenectady Troy, NY, USA)

celebrating over twelve years of interfaith telling ... honoring the richness and diversity of our traditions ... discovering that which we hold in common ... connecting with each other in mind and heart ... by sharing our stories ... sharing the "Light"

We are a storytelling group that is made up of people of many faiths. People who minister to others within their own spiritual tradition, instill values and shape character, who counsel or simply wish to have their spirit uplifted by stories are welcome. Our goal is to be of service/to connect with people of all spiritualities and faiths; to rejoice in the richness of our diversity, to break down the barriers which sometimes divide us and to build up that which we have in common.

Come to tell (or to listen), to share resources and storytelling techniques and to make contact with others who believe in the moral, the spiritual and healing power of story. Each month, from September to June, we are hosted by a different faith community. We meet in synagogues, mosques, Buddhist centers, Christian churches and a local interfaith sanctuary. We are always seeking new groups with whom we can share.

Interfaith Story Circle is a free "come when you can" opportunity. Books, bibliographies and handouts on storytelling are available. Please feel free to bring a friend. Hope to see you at one of our circles, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. (7:00-7:45 sharing/telling by facilitator on monthly theme; 7:45-9:00 time for open telling). Our monthly schedule can be found at interfaithstory.org.
