Third Year: 2008

Almost everyone, plus three dancers from Bindaya's

Here are some highlights from our year.

Performance
Our 2008 performance was held at the new social hall of the Hindu Temple Society of the Capital District, followed by a pot-luck supper with informal story sharing at the tables. Afterwards, an informative and entertaining tour of the temple was led by Ritam, one of our youth tellers.

Interns
This year we were enriched by the formation of an intern group. Sarah (Ali), Ben, Nimi, Ilyssa and Adah had been Children at the Well for two years, and in 2008 they worked to support our story coaches Mary and Marni in preparing the newer students for their March performance.

The interns also ran their very own Interfaith Story Circle meeting on April 3, 2008. It rocked!

Case Foundation Finalists
Selected nationally from nearly 5,000 proposals, Children at the Well was among the Top 100 in the running for the Case Foundation “Make it Your Own” Award! Although we didn’t make it into the next round, it was great fun and an honor.

Photographer
Children at the Well had a staff photographer in 2008! Sönke Tippelmann, in the US for one year from Hamburg, Germany, and residing with the Hetko family, was our dedicated and talented photographer. You can see a few of his photos on this page.
